Kerala Public Exams - The SSLC 2020 examinations will start from May 26 under strict security measures with the pending Plus 2 exam. Re-assuring the parents, the Education Minister of Kerala assured that the students were safe and that all safety guidelines were being followed to ensure that. For those students who will not be able to appear in the exam, the minister said that the students can appear in the Save the Year or SAY exam which will be held later.

SAY Exams are usually conducted for students who do not pass the public examinations. However, all such students would be considered as regular students should they decide not to appear for the May exams and chose to appear in SAY exams.

Reiterating on the safe examinations, Kerala education minister Professor C Raveendranath told ANI, "The Education Department is making all arrangements to bring the schools back to normalcy. The schools are being cleaned with the help of local bodies, public representatives and parents teachers association. It will be completed in two days. The fire brigade will disinfect all schools." He also urged parents not to be tense about the examination and the Corona-virus situation. "Facilities like sensitization of the schools, thermal scanning are being done as per the directions of Union Health Department. Students will be safe here like they are in their homes," he added.

The schools have been asked to rent buses to transport students for the examination. The education minister further said that the government would bear all such costs borne by the schools.

Kerala SSLC, Plus 1 and Plus 2 Public Examinations 2020 would begin from May 26 and be completed in 5 days – by May 30. The examinations were scheduled in the month of March 2020 but had to be postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak.
